The Convenience of Landline Texting

Posted by Juebong Khwarg on May 01, 2015

Communication has been forever changed. Where calling once stood alone as the dominant (albeit only viable) form of instant communication, texting has rapidly caught up. And it’s not hard to see why texting has had such a dramatic rise in popularity. Texting gets your message across instantly, you can edit your messages to make sure they’re mistake free, and let you express yourself more fully with images and now, emoticons.

But perhaps the most appreciated advantage of texting is its convenience. Texting allows its participants to communicate when they can, rather than being held up on a call. And since each message only takes a few seconds at a time, texting lets doesn’t feel like as much of a commitment. These are the advantages that landline texting could bring your company.

If you have a business, it’s probably safe to assume that you have a phone number. Landline texting enables you to send and receive text messages through this existing number, even if it’s landline or toll-free. When customers text you, their messages are converted into an email-like format that you can access from any internet browser. When you reply through this system, your responses appear on the customer’s phone as though it was a text message sent from your number.

Here are just a few of the advantages of landline texting:

Don’t Advertise Your Personal Number

Although ill-advised, I know there a few of you who use your personal cell phone for business texts. There are of course a litany of problems with this. Customers message you throughout your day, even when you’re at home trying to relax. It takes forever to find personal messages as you sort through business related ones. You open yourself up to spammers and scammers. By setting your number up with landline texting, you can leave these worries behind.

It’s All Done on the Computer

Unlike regular texting, landline texting is done through a web browser, just like your email. And while some of us may claim to have an absurdly high proficiency for texting on those tiny screens, most of us can type much faster on a regular keyboard. Trumpia has developed a new product, Trumpia Connect, that takes landline texting one step further from your CRM's lead record.

Forward Messages to Your Phone or Email

Of course, one of the great benefits of texting through your phone is the attention-grabbing tones that make sure we never miss an important message. But you don’t have to worry about that either. With Trumpia’s version of landline texting at least, you can have inbound text messages automatically forwarded to your personal phone or email, and you can toggle this function on and off as you wish.

Set Up Multiple Numbers within your Organization

For many businesses, you have multiple reps, locations, or departments, each with their own separate direct number. Once again, with Turmpia’s version of landline texting, you can have each one of these numbers hooked up with landline texting, letting individual reps keep customer interactions discrete and quickly find the message thread they need, rather than having to sift through a large general inbox.
