QR Code Marketing Transcends the Hype as a Game Changer for Nearly 20 Percent of Trumpia Users

When it comes to mobile text marketing, the marriage of technology and art is delivering real results.  Small businesses are using the visually interesting, two-dimensional QR Code to drive consumer engagement in a big way.

We at Trumpia wanted to test all the industry hype to see what we’d find among our own customer base.  Is QR Code marketing really the industry’s hottest trend? We found that the answer was a resounding yes!

According to a recent study of Trumpia customers, nearly 20 percent are using QR Code marketing. Our data reveals that these customers chose to make QR code marketing a priority within nine months of jumping on the Multi-Channel Marketing bandwagon.

Those who are integrating QR Codes into their SMS service and Multi-Channel marketing program find that the squares, which have information encoded within them, make a big difference to their business. QR codes are boosting the number of people who ultimately opt-in to receive news, alerts and special offers.

In fact, nearly 40 percent of the top 20 Trumpia users who engage a potential customer with a simple QR code scan are then successfully using this initial touch point as a way to get the person to join their mobile marketing database.

QR Code marketers who are taking a cross-channel approach using Trumpia’s All-In-One Multi-Channel Marketing platform are benefitting from greater customer engagement across a variety of digital channels. Trumpia users are coordinating their SMS text messaging and QR code marketing efforts with their social media marketing.

Our research points to a majority of our users who are counting on QR Codes to help them build a greater Facebook fan base. With most QR Code scans, these Trumpia users are leading people to join or Like them on the popular social media site.

What is also interesting is that Trumpia’s research seems to fall right in-line with other marketing industry studies. According to Booz & Company/Buddy Media's Campaigns to Capabilities Social Media & Marketing 2011 Survey conducted across more than 100 leading companies, 40 percent of respondents said that social media was driving their approach to mobile marketing.

The research also supports the trend towards creating a cross-channel, coordinated approach. As the Booz & Company/Buddy Media survey reveals, 86 percent of respondents say that using social media as part of an integrated marketing campaign is a critical success enabler.

QR codes are truly breaking the ice to help marketers quickly and affordably engage more customers than ever before.  But it’s just a start. The future of marketing success seems to depend on a business’ ability to orchestrate a coordinated campaign across a variety of social, mobile and digital channels
