Those are staggering statistics. People are obsessed with their cellphones and are spending a lot of time on them. Knowing all of this, a lot of marketing companies approach their strategies in a very lazy way - assuming that people will automatically be interested in their campaign because they are already on their phone. Timing is one of the key approaches when building a strong and effective campaign that will generate more leads and click through rates. Do not send messages whenever you feel like it. Instead, follow these guidelines below!


Finding a time

When picking a time for your campaign, ask yourself the following questions: 

  • What is your campaign’s goal? 
  • Are there time sensitive deals? 
  • Are there any special events or holidays coming up?

Considering all of those questions will help you pick the best time for sending your message. Let’s walk through it. If my campaign’s goal was to generate more sales for my restaurant for Mother’s Day promotion, this is what I would do: I would send a message containing a coupon that advertises 15% off any meal if you come on Mother’s Day, one week before the event. 

One week is ample time for people to schedule it in advance, while this event is close enough to generate large amounts of excitement. Notice how it is also not too early, ensuring that there is a lot of urgency around this event. 


Testing what works

Anyone that tries to tell you a golden time and day where you can generate more leads is wrong. There is no single time that will consistently lead to greater results. Instead, you need to gather information through data capturing and testing. If you have theories on what time may work for your subscribers, you will never know unless you try.
