Hey everyone! Sarah Mendoza here. On today’s Trumpia Mobile Minute, I’m going to talk to you guys about the difference between SMS and MMS Messages. Let’s get started!

So what’s an SMS?

An SMS (short for Short Message Service) is a text message sent on your phone that contains only characters. We use them every day because that they are the most attention-grabbing, immediate, and convenient form of communication. In fact, the reason that SMS has overtaken email as the best way to communicate is because 98% of text messages are read, while only 22% of emails are. Something important to remember is that an SMS is limited to 160 characters, so it’s important to be concise!

Then what is an MMS?

A Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a message that includes some form of multi-media, ranging from a picture to a video, or even a longer message than an SMS can hold. Whether it’s a holiday greeting or an eye-popping picture of your new product, an MMS is the best way to  send your audience a message that is instantly read and will make a meaningful impression.
